20 Best Film Directors Of The Decade (So Far)
13. Steven Spielberg
2010s Films: The Adventures Of TinTin, War Horse, Lincoln, Bridge Of Spies, The BFG
Upcoming Projects: The Kidnapping Of Edgardo Mortara, Ready Player One, Indiana Jones 5, West Side Story
Spielberg's been around so long and amassed such a strong filmography that it's easy to forget that the stuff he's currently producing is still top notch. Last year with Bridge Of Spies he one of 2015's best films, one that would have received more praise if it didn't fail to crack its director's top ten, with excellent chemistry with his lead and a perfectly lit take on Cold War Berlin. And likewise don't forget Lincoln, which showed the same level of skill on an even trickier project.
It's not been perfect - TinTin wasn't quite as amazing as it could have been and War Horse is really rather flat - but his more traditional dramas have been top-notch, while word on The BFG is incredibly positive. Given how many movies he's got lined up, it's clear there's much more to come.
