12. PG: Psycho Goreman

The Night House
Shudder

Much like Slaxx, you probably know whether you're going to enjoy Psycho Goreman or not from the title alone. If that's enough to grip you, then strap in one for one hell of a wild ride.

An utterly deranged sci-fi action horror-comedy revolving around a pair of young siblings who accidentally revive a murderous alien warrior, Psycho Goreman offers up a loving, dog-eared homage to classic VHS schlock horror.

With its uncommonly amusing child protagonists, lashings of brutal, practically realised violence, creative imagery, and shameless silliness, this is a film that not a single living soul can accuse of taking itself too seriously.

And yet, it's a genuinely well-made film with a fun cast and a sharp, self-aware script. Give your inner 12-year-old a treat and show them this unhinged laugh riot of a fantasy-horror flick.
