It might not have been this year’s best horror, or indeed that different from its two predecessors, but credit should be given to The Purge: Election Year’s crafty marketing campaign. With the presidential campaign looming, designers LA decided to take advantage by tying in their ad campaign with the bizarre electoral race.
A TV advert riffed on Donald Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan but a more subtle, yet equally attention grabbing effort was the movie’s posters mimicking America’s iconic ‘I Voted’ stickers replaced with the words ‘I Purged’.
