20 Best Movie Posters Of 2016

15. Moonlight

10 Cloverfield Lane
A24

Widely hailed as this year’s best indie movie, Moonlight is a haunting and bittersweet portrait of a young gay black man growing up in South Central Miami. The film visits its protagonist Chiron in three distinct periods in his life from boyhood to adulthood, with three different actors taking on the role over the course of the movie.

A previous triptych-style poster featured separate images of the film’s three main actors, though its most effective poster fuses their faces into one cleverly referencing the film’s unique casting.
