5. Toy Story 4
Hey, remember all those people who said we didn't even need a Toy Story 4? Remember how wrong they were. Let's laugh at them.
The problem for those people - and the biggest challenge for Toy Story 4 - was unquestionably that Toy Story 3 had a great ending. The opportunity, though was that that ending simply wasn't satisfying for Woody. All it did was reinforce the idea that toys just had to accept that life moved on and that they'd be rejected eventually. That's not cheerful and it wasn't any sort of ending for Woody. It was for us to feel better, not him.
So, in that respect, Toy Story 4 reclaimed Woody's story for him, refocusing on his abandonment issues and re-exploring his existential crisis through the stories of Gaby Gaby and Forky. If you didn't cry, you've got a heart of stone and if you didn't think this was the right way to end Woody's story, you're just objectively wrong.
