20 Biggest Movies Of 2016: What Do We Already Know?
6. Silence
Release Date: TBA 2016. Who's Involved: Martin Scorsese directs Jay Cocks' (The Age of Innocence, Gangs of New York) adaptation of Shūsaku End's 1966 novel, while Liam Neeson, Adam Driver, Andrew Garfield and Tadanobu Asano star. What's The Story?: Two Jesuit priests (Garfield and Driver) travel to Japan to track down their mentor (Neeson) after discovering that he may have renounced his faith. Without ruining the plot, grimness ensues. Will It Be Any Good?: This should put Scorsese in the sort of super-serious mode he hasn't been in for quite a while, and the classic material as well as the stellar cast will certainly have many considering this to be a sure-fire Oscar contender two years from now. If it's even a half-way decent adaptation of the novel, it should be great.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
