20 Biggest Movies Of 2016: What Do We Already Know?

5. X-Men: Apocalypse

Release Date: May 27, 2016. Who's Involved: Bryan Singer returns to direct, while Simon Kinberg again writes the script, along with team Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty (X-Men 2). James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Peters, Rose Byrne and Ian McKellen all reprise their respective roles, while being joined by Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Tye Sheridan (young Cyclops), Sophie Turner (young Jean Grey) and Alexandra Shipp (young Storm). It's also believed that Hugh Jackman will make some sort of an appearance as Wolverine, and Channing Tatum may make his debut as Gambit. What's The Story?: Nothing official has been said yet, but the plot will clearly see mutants young and old teaming up to take down one of comic lore's most dangerous enemies, Apocalypse. Will It Be Any Good?: After Days of Future Past's success, it seems pretty likely, and with some hot new cast members joining the fray, it certainly won't want for talent.
