18. Star Sapphire (Green Lantern)

In spite of the fact that the live action Green Lantern movie was an unholy catastrophe, DC and Warner Brothers obviously had some confidence in the possibility that the film might be a success and spawn a sequel, as the Sinestro Corps arc was set up nicely and there was a subtle nod to a possible future appearance of Star Sapphire. Carole Ferris, who was in the film as Hal Jordan's love interest was seen early in the film wearing the symbol of the Star Sapphires on her helmet. In the comics, the Star Sapphires are a Lantern Corps powered by love in the same way the Green Lanterns are fuelled by willpower, and Ferris has acted as both a hero and villain in the role of ring-bearer.
