7. Esther - Orphan (2009)
Esther is not the forlorn little fosterling she appears to be. She is in fact a 33 year old woman called Leena. She suffers from hypopituitarism which gives her a childlike appearance. Furthermore she has absconded from an Estonian mental hospital where she is known to have killed seven people. Her schtick is posing as an orphan and thus having access to the foster system. She inveigles her way into the Coleman household and almost immediately starts scheming and making mischief. She kills one of the nuns from the orphanage, tries to kill Daniel, her foster brother, twice and then tries to seduce her foster father - John - who subsequently cottons on to her capers. Now the race is on to remove Esther from the family before she kills one or several of them. Esther manages to kill John and goes on to fight to the death with her foster mother Kate. Kate kills her with the utter contempt she deserves despite Esther's pleas to be saved. The death of Esther is a great relief to the audience as she is a terrifying psychopathic creepy 'kid'.It is honestly enough to make you never want to foster children in case you have a farrago like the above. Just stay away from creepy Balkan state kids until you have done research on their backgrounds.
