Potter Actors Featured: Bill Nighy, Michael Gambon, Toby Jones

Based on the classic British sit-com of the same name, Dad's Army begins in 1944 with the end of World War Two in sight. In Walmington-on-Sea, Captain Mainwaring's (Toby Jones, voice of Doddy the House Elf) Home Guard are forced into the conflict when they discover a foreign spy in their sleepy seaside town.

Jones aside - who, although only appearing as the voice of a CGI elf, is a true member of the Potter family for his work as Dobby - Bill Nighy and Michael Gambon were also cast in the Dad's Army reboot. While they were at odds as the Minister for Magic and the Headmaster of Hogwarts respectively the Potter films, here they were part of the same platoon as Sergeant Wilson and Private Godfrey.

While Sean O'Grady of The Independent gave the film a five star review that claimed the remake "surpasses the original", fellow English newspaper The Guardian were not impressed, with critic Peter Bradshaw calling the new Dad's Army a well-meaning but ultimately pointless Brit-comedy.
