4. The Statue Of Liberty Joystick Comes From A NES
Whilst many hold the second film in low esteem, Ghostbusters II has a particularly inspired sequence in the part where the group use the supernatural ooze to bring the Statue Of Liberty to life with some help from Howard Huntsberry's version of (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher, and a joystick to control her. A joystick which, surprisingly, didn't wind up being another opportunity for the production designers to come up with something that could later sold as a toy. The joystick was simply an NES Advantage joystick with most of the body removed. A third-rate Nintendo peripheral has a starring role in Ghostbusters II. Yup.
