3. The Party Scene Is One Continuous, Improvised Shot
Continuous, unbroken shots are one of the most celebrated things in Hollywood, the more complex the better. The most famous include the opening shot of Touch Of Evil, the opening shot of The Player which riffs on that same opening, and several great scenes in Children Of Men. The recent Birdman is also rigged to look like it's all one long shot. One of the less celebrated but no less impressive such scenes comes in Ghostbusters, during the scene at Louis Tully's party. And is doubly impressive when you consider that Rick Moranis also improvised all of his dialogue, meaning the amount of technical expertise involved is crazy you know, considering it's Ghostbusters.
