20 Greatest Performances In Superhero Movies
8. J.K. Simmons - J. Jonah Jameson (Spider-Man Trilogy)
There's a reason why fans are campaigning for J.K. Simmons to reprise his role as the Daily Bugle's cantankerous editor J. Jonah Jameson in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming (despite it being a different continuity), because he pretty much is the character rather than pretending to be him.
This is a perfect marriage of player and part, with Simmons' arrogant demeanour proving both hilarious and genuinely infuriating at times. He may ultimately be a fairly inconsequential character in the grand scheme of the movies, but he's also been sorely missed since Spider-Man 3, and fans would be more-than-glad to have him back (as long as his part as Commissioner Gordon in the DCEU doesn't cause a conflict of interest).
In a word, perfect.
