The ships is outfitted with Genuine People Personalities, meaning things like doors just cant wait to open for you. It also comes with the over-excitable shipboard computer and the manically depressed android Marvin. What makes the Heart of Gold unique is that the Infinite Improbability Drive. This faster-than-light drive allows the ship to travel to every part of the universe at once. You can therefore travel vast distances almost instantly. However it does come with a few drawbacks. You cant really ever tell where you are going to go, or whether youll still be your usual species when you arrive.
1. Star Destroyer
Appears in: Star Wars The Star Destroyer is one of the most iconic spaceships in all of time. Since first appearing in the 1977 films first moments after the opening crawl they have captured the imagination. The sheer size of these ships is shown brilliantly as the camera pans below as it passes in pursuit. The distinctive wedge shape and control tower makes Star Destroyers instantly recognisable. Throughout the Star Wars saga and expanded universe weve seen new designs, including the mighty Super Star Destroyers that make their standard cousins look like starfighters in comparison. The terror these craft can cause to enemies is unmatched and their mere presence near a planet is enough to halt rebellion in its tracks.
