Fans are divided on whether or not Spider-Man: Homecoming is the web-slinger's best solo movie to date, but there's no doubting Tom Holland's excellence in the role, and the fantastic handle on tone that director Jon Watts has.

Reimagining Spidey within a Breakfast Club-esque comedy, Homecoming is one of the MCU's funniest films to date, and while the action rarely raises the pulse, it's nevertheless elevated significantly by one of the series' better recent villains, thanks to Michael Keaton's unexpectedly terrifying performance.

As an exercise in getting Spidey back on solid ground, it lays a fantastic foundation that can be easily built upon in the upcoming sequels.
