Release Date: July 2nd Somewhat unthinkably based on real-life cases of cop Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), Deliver Us From Evil looks like the bastard hell-child of Constantine and End Of Days, with a genuinely chilling approach. Sarchie is a cop who has lost his faith, who struggles with his own personal issues while investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes, which see him work with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramirez) to combat demonic possessions. Sean Harris - probably best known as Fifield in Prometheus - plays one such possession case, and he has that intangible creepiness already in his locker to make that a particularly intriguing casting, even before he starts smearing himself in blood. The Selling Point: The premise looks great, and the cast - especially Harris - is perfectly pitched. The Concerns: Horror is still horror, and aside from some rare success stories in the past decade, the genre remains something of an outdated option. Hopefully, that will change. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiIxgiReLeU
