The Role: The Hoff will be cameoing as himself in the wildly unnecessary comedy sequel. Of the experience, he said, " comes up with this idea of KITT, David Hasselhoff and Ted. And it's kind of self-effacing. It kind of puts me down, which I kind of like a lot. And it gives me a chance to set the record straight and it's really really really fun. It's a short bit in the movie. But when we filmed it the response was phenomenal." Why It's Unexpected: Now, a MacFarlane movie featuring washed-up talent is nothing new, nor is The Hoff's penchant for sending himself up, but at the same time, with his starring in next month's Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, did anyone really think Hoff fans would get a double dose of self-deprecating hilarity in 2015? Will It Work?: This one could go either way. Piranha 3DD proved how The Hoff parodying himself can be a bit stale, and MacFarlane sometimes runs a joke so far into the ground it's not funny anymore. Hopefully it'll be a tad more sophisticated than bringing Hasselhoff out in his Baywatch gear while the iconic theme tune plays out.
