12. The Beginning And The End - The Departed (2006)
Scorsese returned to the world of the Gangster film with his remake of Korean cop drama Infernal Affairs. The story follows a cop on the inside and the paralleling criminal on the outside, played perfectly by DiCaprio and Damon. The supporting cast is great, but the whole show is stolen by Nicholson, who is on top form as Boston crime lord Frank Costello. Iconic Moment: If you haven't seen Infernal Affairs, then the penultimate scenes of this film will shock the hell out of you. The opening ten minutes are also classic Scorsese - montage, voice over, swift camera movements and The Rolling Stones. Infernal Affairs did it first, but this version is a much more style-driven and enjoyable watch.
