There are tons of scenes inherent to Christopher Nolans best and most accomplished superhero flick, The Dark Knight, but for our money and therefore everyones money, because whos going to argue with this? the most iconic scene is still the opening one, as the Joker (Heath Ledger) organises a bank heist that could have come right out of a Michael Mann movie, only to reveal himself in hugely candid and spectacular style at the very end. The scene starts with an ominous soundtrack cue, as we move towards a skyscraper, only for crash! one of the windows to be blown out. Then we cut between various hired goons, as one by one they each realise that theyve been hired by the Joker to eliminate one other until the job is done and the Joker can walk away with all the cash. And then theres that final line: I believe whatever doesnt kill you simply makes you stranger. Yes!
