20 Idiotic Decisions Made By Characters In The X-Men Franchise

17. Professor XForgets He Can UseCerebro On Toad, Sabertooth & Mystique - X-Men

20th Century Fox

Much of the plot of X-Men derives from Professor X's ability to get inside people's heads using a special machine named Cerebro in order to check out what they're doing - or what they might do if he doesn't get involved or meddle in their plans. In the case of Magneto, the villain of the picture, things are made somewhat complicated by way of his special helmet, which successfully blocks out Professor X from any mind-reading.

In short, Professor X normally uses Cerebro to track down people's locations - that's how he finds everybody all the time without any prior knowledge.

With Magneto, though, it just ain't possible.

So much of X-Men consists of Professor X getting annoyed because he can't keep a tab on Magneto's movements. But what about Magneto's companions, who - for the sum of the movie - are pretty much at his side? Why doesn't Professor X just jump into their minds instead? How did he even forgot he could do this?
