15. Blonsky The Avenger? (Marvel One-Shot: The Consultant)

In the Marvel One-Shot "The Consultant", it becomes apparent that the World Security Council (we'll come back to them later) want to release Emil Blonsky (AKA the Abomination) from custody in order to have him join the Avengers Initiative, given that he is a war hero and could become a powerful asset. Idiots. S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Jasper Sitwell and Phil Coulson conspire to send "The Consultant" (Tony Stark) to see General Ross (who was to be the one releasing Blonsky) to sabotage the release by having Stark annoy Ross to the point that he outright refused to comply with the wishes of the Council. Thankfully, it worked, and Blonsky remains detained. It really was a stupid idea to consider having the monster join the Avengers in the first place, though.
