20 Incredible Facts You Didn't Know About 2020's Biggest Movies
3. It Almost Had A CGI George Carlin Cameo - Bill & Ted Face The Music
Bill and Ted Face the Music was one of 2020's most relieving triumphs: not a great movie perhaps, but a warm-hearted, worthy follow-up to its two predecessors.
Yet the film almost put a foot wrong given that there was an originally written scene where Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) would cross paths with their former mentor Rufus in the flesh, which due to actor George Carlin's 2008 death would've required the character to be recreated digitally.
Ultimately budgetary concerns put the kibosh on these plans, and considering the obvious taste concerns, it was probably for the best.
Instead, director Dean Parisot settled for re-using existing footage from the previous films to present Rufus as a hologram who welcomes Bill and Ted to the future, with a vocal impersonation being recorded by Piotr Michael.
