A man went looking for America and couldn't find it anywhere... Easy Rider is an extremely important moment film in Hollywood history as it, along with The Graduate and Bonnie And Clyde, ushered in the era of the New Hollywood - the generation of young, arthouse-inspired film-makers and personnel who would change the way that movies looked in the 1960s and '70s. Exploring the counter-culture and featuring a cutting-edge soundtrack, Easy Rider captured the imagination of the American public. Made for just $360,000 the film went on to make over $60m worldwide. The production is legendary because of the antics of director and co-star Dennis Hopper, who was strung-out (real drugs were taken in some scenes) that the crew were at times unable to control him.
