10. Dawn Of The Dead’s Depressing (And Gory) Alternate Ending
At the end of the second Living Dead movie Peter (Ken Foree) and the heavily pregnant Fran (Gaylen Ross) escape via helicopter after their hideout is overrun by looting bikers and zombie hordes but Romero originally had a far more gruesome fate in store for the sole survivors of the shopping mall outpost.
An alternate ending saw Peter commit suicide by shooting himself in the head and Fran upping the gore ante by running head first into a rotating helicopter blade. The idea was eventually dropped when Romero decided it was too depressing a finale even for a zombie apocalypse movie.
