8. The Actor Playing Strahm Didn't Know He Was Being Killed Off
In Saw V, Agent Peter Strahm does everything he can to expose Mark Hoffman as the new Jigsaw killer. In the final scene, he seals Hoffman in a glass container, seemingly trapping him. Little does he know that closing the door causes the walls to close in, crushing Strahm to death.
If you didn't see this ending coming, you weren't the only one. The actor portraying Strahm, Scott Patterson, had no idea the film was going to conclude with his character being squished. During production, the special effects technician met Patterson to build a cast for his arm. This was done to prepare for the shot where Strahm's arm is crushed by the closing walls. However, Patterson didn't have a clue what the SFX crew member was doing, forcing the technician to awkwardly explain that his character was being axed.
