7. Godzilla Has A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame
To commemorate Godzillas 50th anniversary in 2004, he was given his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, right in front of the Graumans Chinese Theatre. Held before the U.S. premiere of Godzilla: Final Wars, the event was a celebration of the characters long career and impact on popular culture. Actor Tsutomu Kitagawa even accepted the award dressed up as Godzilla, along with the series producer Shogo Tomiyama. It was a very significant recognition for Japan and Toho, as he was the first non-American character to receive a star.
