20. Godzilla Was Almost An Octopus
When the original Gojira was first being conceived, it wasnt clear to anyone what exactly the monster would be. The one consistent idea throughout the entire design phase of the production was that the creature, whatever it was, came from the sea and was created by atomic bomb testing. At one point Gojira was even imagined to be a giant octopus due to fear of being too similar to The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, one of the inspirations for Gojira. However, in the end they decided to just make him a giant dinosaur. And just like that, history was made.
