20 Most Anticipated Movies For The Rest Of 2026

The End of Oak Street is the long-awaited next film from the brilliant David Robert Mitchell, best known for his films It Follows and Under the Silver Lake.

The movie was largely shot under a veil of secrecy, though the marketing confirms its absolutely delirious premise, revolving around a family (fronted by Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor) who find that their suburban neighbourhood has been transported to a prehistoric region rife with dinosaurs and other creatures.

The concept alone feels uncommonly fresh for a splashy blockbuster, Hathaway and McGregor look like they're having an absolute ball, and considering Mitchell's prior cinematic accomplishments, it'll certainly be interesting to see him tackle something more large-scale. And of course, with J.J. Abrams producing this sci-fi mystery romp, there are many convinced it's actually a secret Cloverfield movie. 

That sure seems like an easy way for Cloverfield fans to set themselves up for disappointment, but on its own terms, The End of Oak Street just might be one of the most unique tentpoles of 2026.

The End of Oak Street releases on August 14.
