20 Most Epic Movie Moments Of 2016
12. The Final Showdown - The Magnificent Seven
Nobody can argue that the recent Magnificent Seven remake doesn't give viewers a ton of bang for their buck, considering the final half-hour is basically one awesome, epic action sequence.
Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard) and his men return to the town of Rose Creek to take it once and for all, but Sam Chisholm (Denzel Washington), his six compatriots and the townsfolk are lying in wait and fight back.
Horses get blown up, Bogue pulls out a Gatling gun, the two Native American characters have a bada** fight, and slowly but surely the Seven's numbers dwindle down.
Faraday (Chris Pratt) gets easily the coolest death, mortally wounded and pretending to light a cigar in his final moments, but actually lighting a stick of dynamite, which then explodes. And finally, Chisholm has a showdown with Bogue in a church, which results in Emma (Haley Bennett) shooting him dead.
The only survivors from the Seven are Chisholm, Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier), after what is easily one of the year's most exhilarating climactic action sequences.
