20 Most Horribly Misleading Movie Titles

16. Heavenly Creatures

What It Sounds Like: A young Kate Winslet. A young Melanie Lynskey. All of the elements were in place for a telling drama about a couple of fallen angels adjusting to an Earthly existence amongst us non-winged mortals.

What It Actually Is: Peter Jackson€™s 1994 drama couldn€™t be farther from the truth. Based on a true story, Heavenly Creatures tells of schoolgirls Pauline Parker (Lynskey) and Juliet Hulme (Winslet) and their plot to kill Parker€™s mother.

There€™s nothing heavenly about the pair, except for the idyllic dreamworld to which they retreat. In reality they€™re a couple of entitled brats who go much farther than feet stomping and bedroom huffs. When Parker€™s mother refuses to let her go overseas with Juliet, they carry out her murder. It€™s a gruesome, heart-breaking scene.

What It Should Have Been Called: Horrendous Creatures.
