Hype: The first Secret Life of Pets was a refreshing and cheerful movie that took on a similar idea to Toy Story – instead of wondering what our toys got up to when we’re not around, what about our pets? Just as with Toy Story, one movie was definitely not enough!

Not much is known about the plot yet, but The Secret Life of Pets 2 looks as funny as the first. One of the trailers shows Chloe (voiced by Lake Bell), the sophisticated cat, teaching three of the dogs how to behave like a cat – knocking coffee onto laptops and eating birds. You know, the usual.

The pets are diverse creatures of all breeds, shapes and personalities, all voiced by a truly talented cast including the likes of Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate and Dana Carvey. You’re lying to yourself if you don’t want to hear Harrison Ford voice a Welsh sheepdog named Rooster, which is actually Ford’s first animated role.
