This sci fi adventure from 2007 is amongst the most likeable blockbusters of the new millennium despite the brutal reputation of its director, and the CGI-heavy spectacle of its impressive effects haven’t lost any of their sheen over a decade and many, many sequels later.

That said, it’s the charming script which makes this one worth revisiting, along with the funny, likeable central turn from future star Shia Labeouf as the unsuspecting teen thrown into this intense, city-smashing thrill ride with the eponymous robots in disguise.
