20 Most Unfairly Hated Movies Of The 21st Century

They're not that bad!

One of the double-edged swords of the Internet is that it has allowed film buffs, fanboys and more casual viewers to come together to discuss movies in a huge public forum...and more often than not this results in just about everyone having melodramatic, foaming opinions, either positive or negative. Finding a middle-ground isn't easy.

These movies, despite earning strong reviews and decent box office in some cases, have been relentlessly torn apart online by people who sound almost personally offended by how "bad" each film apparently is.

Of course, if you take away rampant fanboyism and unreasonable expectations, not a single one of these 20 films is rightly worthy of all that hate. They're not all great or even particularly good, but going by the chorus of disdain online, you'd think they were actually making the world a worse place to live.

20. Quantum Of Solace (2008)

Why It's Hated: As following on from 2006's stupendous Casino Royale reboot, many Bond fans simply felt that Quantum was an incredibly sharp decline in quality, citing a rushed plot (it's the shortest Bond film at just 106 minutes), shaky Bourne-esque action sequences, and a lame villain.

Why It's Unfair: While QoS absolutely isn't on the same level as Casino Royale, it's still basically a mid-tier Bond film overall and certainly leagues ahead of Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan's worst outings.

It's also worth considering that the movie was shot in the middle of the 2007-2008 Writer's Strike, causing Daniel Craig and director Mark Forster to write much of the script themselves the day it was being shot.

In short, the production was a disaster, so to be honest, it's impressive that they even managed to make a fairly average Bond film out of it.

It's not a great film by any means, but the online vitriol is strong enough to make you think it's a lot worse than it actually is.
