6. Deadpool Murders Ryan Reynolds - Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2 is a movie full of WTF moments, but the superhero sequel cranks things up to 11 during its series of mid-credits scenes. After Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna) manage to repair Cable's (Josh Brolin) time travel device, Wade (Ryan Reynolds) steals it to, uh, "fix the timeline".

In a sequence set to Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time", he prevents Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) from dying, tells Peter (Rob Delaney) to quit the X-Force, kills "Barakapool" in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and in the stunning pièce de résistance, tracks down Ryan Reynolds as he prepares to sign on for Green Lantern and shoots him in the head (before adding, "You're welcome, Canada").

Does it get much more meta than the star of a hit superhero movie travelling back in time to kill himself before he can appear in one of the most reviled superhero movies of the last decade? It's hilarious, shocking and totally unexpected, even for the standards of Deadpool.

Good luck topping that in Deadpool 3, guys.
