3. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery ends with Austin (Mike Myers) defeating Dr. Evil (also Mike Myers), before an epilogue set three months later shows Austin and Vanessa Kensington (Elizabeth Hurley) now married and in a hotel celebrating their honeymoon, where they fend off assassin Random Task (Joe Son).
The second film, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, literally opens with a title card that reads, "Where we last left Austin," before we cut to Austin and Vanessa in bed in the very same hotel room.
The big twist, however, is that Vanessa is soon enough revealed to be one of Dr. Evil's fembots - a rather hilarious parody of the transitional nature of the leading ladies in the James Bond franchise.
More amusingly still, Austin Powers actually beat Bond to the punch with the "immediate sequel" treatment, as this didn't happen in a 007 movie until almost a decade later in the aforementioned Quantum of Solace.
