20 Movies Since 2010 So Awful They're Actually Harrowing
4. Jack And Jill
You knew this was coming. Adam Sandler plays both Jack and Jill, a pair of twins who don’t get on, and chaos ensues. Hilarity does not. Clearly everyone involved thought this would be hilarious and threw every dire joke imaginable at us with admirable enthusiasm. Unfortunately, Jack and Jill is more painful to watch than funny. Especially when Al Pacino (yes, the Al Pacino) turns up.
Despite 2011 being a terrible film year, most 2011 films didn’t win a Razzie award. This won every single award at the entire ceremony, even for ‘Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel’ despite being a standalone film.
Adam Sandler gives the worst performance from any actor in any movie ever, but the worst thing is that Pacino appears. He plays himself and he falls in love with Jill (one of the most nightmarish film characters of all time) and humiliates himself in ways which have to be seen to be believed.
Not only is this film cringe-worthy, childish, and monstrously unfunny but after a while, as Jill gets put through a gauntlet of endless humiliation and mean-spirited treatment, the movie becomes an exercise in sadism and borderline misogyny. It doesn't get much worse than this.
