20 Movies Since 2010 So Awful They're Actually Harrowing

3. The Devil Inside

The Devil Inside
Paramount Pictures

Thanks to two overrated films - The Blair Witch Project. which has not aged well, and Paranormal Activity, which just sucks - found-footage horror films have been a thorn in the side of horror movies for years. The Devil Inside is arguably the worst of the lot.

An uninteresting protagonist gets involved in a series of exorcisms as she tries to find out what happened to her mother, who was possessed and killed 3 people. This made a huge amount of money initially, but then suffered an enormous drop in its second week. This was evidently because audiences aren’t as dumb as studios assume they are and had realized how terrible it actually is.

The rare horror movie devoid of a single scare, The Devil Inside is a movie without even the slightest iota of energy. With the film churning out generic and boring possession scenes and endless exposition with no mercy on the audience, understandably, the average episode of Barney the Dinosaur is ten times scarier. With one of the worst endings of all time, when the film finally finishes you realise there wasn’t even a point.
