20 Perfect Scenes In God-Awful Horror Movies
7. Say Cheese - Mirrors
Mirrors centres around a demonic entity that uses reflective surfaces to kill its prey.
On paper, the underrated Alejandra Aja was the perfect candidate to direct this story, which is based on the Korean thriller, Into the Mirror. Unfortunately, Mirrors didn't have the same innovation and intrigue as its the predecessor. (Also, it didn't need to be almost two hours, especially with the glacial pacing.)
The pointless remake isn't great, but there's one sequence that every horror advocate needs to see. In one of the earlier scenes, Angie is looking in her bathroom mirror, preparing for a bath. As Angie walks towards the tub, her reflection remains in the mirror, proving the malevolent force is targeting her.
As she soaks in the bath, the wicked reflection forcibly pulls her own mouth open, causing Angie to mirror its actions. The reflection keeps tugging at its mouth, causing Angie's lower jaw to disconnect from her face.
Although this is a terrifying image, it's scarier by the fact Angie was helpless to prevent it. As her blood turns the bath-water red, all Angie can do is let out a distorted scream before succumbing to her grievous wounds.
