And finally we have Strange Harvest, another horror film which generated some solid festival buzz but ended up languishing in limbo for the better part of a year before finally being released to the public back in August.

As a mockumentary with a found footage aspect, Strange Harvest further faced an uphill struggle with less open-minded horror fans, alongside the prospect of it being another overhyped festival horror flick that fell short of the mark.

But Strange Harvest is fantastic, director Stuart Ortiz nailing the aesthetic of modern true crime media while delivering a bevy of low-fi scares.

The central mystery, revolving around the re-emergence of a deeply creepy serial killer called Mr. Shiny, is legitimately captivating, and Ortiz takes a few bold swings that later pay off.

As a testament to the horror genre's ability to nurture talented filmmakers without big budgets, Strange Harvest is precisely the sort of punching-above-its-weight romp we should all be championing.
