The Crow Movie Remakes
Shout! Studios

Released amid the sword-and-sorcery boom of the 1980s, Deathstalker is something of a cult classic - far from a good movie in any conventional sense, but a massive box office and home video hit regardless.

There's something to be said for its deeply unserious dark fantasy stylings, rough edges and all, which ultimately led to three sequels.

Few were ever expecting a remake, let alone one executive produced by Guns N' Roses' legendary guitarist Slash and starring one of Hollywood's most underappreciated action stars, Daniel Bernhardt.

But perhaps the bigger surprise than Deathstalker getting a remake/reboot/reimagining at all is that it's actually good - as in, genuinely well-made by filmmaker Steven Kostanski (Psycho Goreman).

This new Deathstalker is far more self-aware of its own goofiness than its predecessor, while serving up a slew of awesome practical effects alongside Bernhardt's kick-ass central performance.

That a new Deathstalker film would be released in 2025 and get positive reviews by a landslide seems most inconceivable, and yet here we are.
