19. Killing Taskmaster Too Soon - Thunderbolts*

Fantastic Four
Disney

Though Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) was counted as part of the Thunderbolts in the film's trailers, many fans were already pretty damn suspicious of her more curtailed presence in the marketing, especially as she didn't appear to be present in any group shots.

This seemed to indicate that Taskmaster would be the first team member to die, and boy, fans didn't realise quite how right they were.

Ultimately, the fan favourite comic book character is in Thunderbolts* for just one scene, when she and the other anti-heroes converge at the O.X.E. facility to fight one another.

Amid the chaos, Taskmaster is shot in the head by Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), killing her instantly and bringing the character's MCU tenure to a disappointingly abrupt end.

Taskmaster is in the film for less than two minutes, which considering the character's enormous popularity in the source material and how underserved she also was in her debut film Black Widow, seemed like a slap in the face to many.

Taskmaster is a character with enormous potential to be a major MCU player, but they threw it all away here.
