20 Recent Movies That Made ONE Huge Mistake

17. Not Enough Daniel - Karate Kid: Legends

Karate Kid: Legends really should've been a slam dunk as legacy movie sequels go, especially considering that TV series Cobra Kai already did most of the heavy lifting.

All this movie needed to do was unite the two "eras" of Karate Kid under one roof by having Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) team up with the remake's mentor, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), to train a young new martial artist, Li (Ben Wang).

The trailers certainly suggested that Legends was going to deliver on that promise, but in reality the entire legacy sequel aspect of the movie was brutally undercooked.

For one, Mr. Han is barely in the first half, spending most of it in China, while Daniel is off-screen entirely until the third act.

Considering Legends clocks in at a too-svelte 94 minutes, it means that fans get to see little of Mr. Han and Daniel interacting while training Li.

It all ends up feeling strangely tossed-off and inconsequential - far from the epic meet-up fans were expecting when the film was first announced.
