2. Be The Attractive Virginal Female Blonde
The ultimate cliché, and one that every reader of this will have seen coming. Ever since the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre effectively invented the genre, this has (generally) been the rule. OK, so not EVERY attractive virginal blonde female survives, with many films trying to subvert the cliché with her "unexpected" death at the end. But the rule, on the whole, is that the character most likely to survive exhibits innocence, bravery, strength... And blonde hair. There hasn't ever really been an explanation for this. Presumably it has something to do with the hedonistic teens getting punished and the angel getting away. Or perhaps it's just because the filmmakers know that a large portion of the audience is comprised of horny teenage guys. Whatever the reason, if you can be the innocent blonde virgin girl, your chances of survival will increase immeasurably.
