10. Gavan O'Herlihy - Jabin
O'Herlihy appeared in the pilot episode of Star Trek: Voyager, Caretaker. He was the Kazon First Mate, Jabin, who declares to Captain Janeway that the ship has made a sworn enemy on that day - he is then promptly never seen again.
O'Herlihy was an Irish-American actor, born in Dublin in 1951. Before acting, he courted a career in tennis, becoming the Irish National Tennis Champion at one point.
In 1974, he was cast as Chuck Cunningham, the eldest of the Cunningham siblings. He was replaced by Randolph Roberts, before the character disappeared from the show. This led to the popular description of Cunningham Syndrome, in which a character is written out of a show without an explanation, then later retconned to have never existed.
He had many other television credits to his name, including The Bionic Woman, The Six-Million Dollar Man, Midsommer Murders, Johnathan Creek. His film credits included Willow and the Descent Part 2.
He died on September 15, 2021, at 70 years of age.
