1. Mystique's Undercover Silliness - X2

X2 might be the best mainline X-Men movie, but it's not free from major plotholes. For instance, for the Senator Kelly storyline to work, we have to accept that the Brotherhood of Mutants hid his disappearance using Mystique as a stand-in. So far, so fine, but look a little deeper and it melts like a senator with genetic problems.

For it to work, Mystique has to have been pretending to be Kelly for MONTHS while Magneto has been locked away and not just in public office. For him to not be missed, she would have to have replaced him in his private life too or his family and friends would have immediately noticed he'd gone missing while apparently still continuing to make official appearances.

And how exactly did she manage to plot Magneto's escape at the same time as playing house at the Kellys?
