20 Terrible 2014 Movies That Should Never Have Happened

4. Left Behind

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 2% Nicolas Cage delivers a schlock classic for the ages with Left Behind, and though most of Cage's movies, good or bad, find the actor in an outrageously eccentric mode, this Biblical disaster flick sees him phone in one of the most curiously muted performances of his career. Even ignoring the awful script and rough array of supporting actors, the movie's real problem is scale: the $16 million budget just can't convincingly depict the Rapture, and as such the production comes off as cheap and amateur. Plus, for some reason, the movie assumes that the audience don't know what the central disaster is about...despite the marketing department giving it away in the trailers...as well as the fact that it's a remake of the Kirk Cameron-starring "classic" of the same name. Unlikely to satisfy Nic Cage fans or the religiously inclined, Left Behind is another dud for the legendary actor, but not one of his more amusing failures, sadly.
