20 Terrible Movies That Do NOT Deserve Their Fresh Rotten Tomatoes Scores

10. Army Of The Dead

Thor The Dark World
Netflix

Score: 67% (Average Score: 6.10/10)

Consensus: An ambitious, over-the-top zombie heist mashup, Army of the Dead brings Zack Snyder back to his genre roots with a suitably gory splash.

This one arrived on Netflix in April 2021, when most cinemas were still closed and we'd got very, very few big-budget films for around a year, so even if it was on the small screen, maybe critics were just happy to see a blockbuster?

Honestly, that's the only particularly logical explanation for how this movie got a fresh score because boy oh boy, it is abso-freaking-lutely terrible.

Filled with chasm-wide plot holes, mind-meltingly stupid writing, irritating characters and nauseating attempts at emotional drama, Army of the Dead is one of the most infuriating horror films you'll ever watch. It is so, so idiotic that it makes Snakes on a Plane look like a work of kitchen sink social realism.

To rub salt in the wound, Army of the Dead's not especially thrilling (despite Zack Snyder's typically good work as director), and out of the fantastic cast, only Dave Bautista really leaves his mark.

Ultimately, this is another weird case where a very silly and messy film actually did better with critics than with audiences who were, justifiably, more mixed in their responses (as indicated by the 5.7 IMDb score). Clearly, film critics aren't as snobbish as they're often (unfairly) accused of being.

Deserved Score: 20-40%.
