20 Things You Didn't Know About No Country For Old Men

18. Brolin's Broken Shoulder

No Country For Old Men
Miramax Films/Paramount Vantage

After working so hard to get the part of Llewellyn Moss, Josh Brolin was nearly forced to give up his part almost immediately after getting it.

Just a couple of days after signing on for the film, Brolin was involved in a motorcycle accident that resulted in him breaking his shoulder.

In an interview with ‘Now’, the actor spoke about the crash and recalled thinking as he was flying through the air “F***ing s**t! I really wanted to work with the Coens.”

Luckily for Brolin, in No Country For Old Men, his character gets shot in the shoulder early on in the film, so if anything the accident helped. He said himself that his injury meant that he didn’t have to ‘act’ hurt while shooting the movie.

An extreme, and totally unintentional, form of method acting.
