9. Bill Gates Didn't Play Bill Gates
From one cameo that you missed, to one that never happened. The scene, where Saverin hears someone say: "Facebook me", for the first time, takes place during a guest lecture from none other than Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
The presentation that Gates gave did happen and Saverin and Zuckerberg really did attend it and met the two girls at that event, so it was nice of Gates to cameo and add some authenticity to the scene. Except he didn't.
Gates is in fact played by a man named Steve Sires but in his brief moment of fame he managed to deceive a lot of audiences into thinking it actually was Gates, such was the resemblance between the two.
If someone ever gets round to making a Microsoft movie, they should definitely look into Sires for the main role. Or Tom Hiddleston. Just an idea.
