12. Eisenberg Practiced Fencing To Get Into Character
While he never met him before filming, Jesse Eisenberg did his best to get into the mindset of the real Mark Zuckerberg.
This included taking up one of Zuckerberg's hobbies: fencing. While this may seem a tad extreme, Eisenberg has said that it really helped him get into character and allowed him to get his posture to match that of Zuckerberg's.
Eisenberg also kept audio recordings of Zuckerberg’s public-speaking appearances on his iPod and and would listen to them just before shooting and explained:
"I wasn't trying to sound exactly like him, but I was trying to get into the spirit of a very specific kind of confidence that he has that seems simultaneously comfortable and a little defensive.”
